The Platform for the CO₂ Economy
The decarbonization of industry requires new solutions for unavoidable CO₂ emissions. Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage—CCX for short—is one of the key technologies on the path to industrial climate neutrality.
With the CARBONX ZONE communal area, HEATEXPO is creating a platform for companies, technology providers, infrastructure operators, investors, and policymakers. This is where innovations, projects, and business models from across the entire CO₂ economy are showcased.

A Key Component of Industrial Transformation
CCS and CCU technologies offer concrete solutions for this.
Industries such as cement, steel, chemicals, glass, and waste-to-energy face the challenge of reducing unavoidable process emissions.
With the European Industrial Carbon Management Strategy and the current legislative initiatives to develop CO₂ transport, utilization, and storage infrastructure, carbon management is increasingly becoming a focus of industrial and climate policy.
Carbon management is evolving from a niche topic into a central component of industrial transformation. For energy- and emissions-intensive industries, the CO₂ value chain will be crucial in the future for balancing climate goals, competitiveness, and security of supply.
The CARBONX ZONE connects:
- Issuers and Industrial Companies
- Technology providers and equipment manufacturers
- Transportation and Infrastructure Operators
- Investors and Lenders
- Government, Associations, and Research Institutions
The goal is to initiate projects, develop partnerships, and actively drive industrial transformation forward.
Topic Areas
Exhibitors, expert presentations, and panel discussions will explore three key topics in the emerging CO₂ economy:
In collaboration with the German Federal Association for Carbon Management (BVCM)
The CARBONX ZONE is being developed in close collaboration with the German Federal Association for Carbon Management (BVCM). As a leading industry representative, the association brings expertise, market knowledge, and a strong network spanning industry, academia, and politics to the development of the platform.
Together, HEATEXPO and BVCM are creating a central meeting place for companies and institutions that are actively shaping the development of a high-performance CO₂ economy in Germany and Europe.
